Different parts of Medicare help cover specific services.

Part A: Hospital Insurance

Hospital care

Nursing care

Home health care

Part B: Medical Insurance

Doctor visits

Mental health

Lab tests, X-rays, medical equipment

Part C: Medicare Advantage

Combines Part A and B, and usually Part D

May include Vision, Dental and more

Part D: Prescription Coverage

Medicines prescribed by your doctor

For a more in-depth look at Medicare, click here to watch our Medicare 101 Video. Adding a supplemental plan may help cover additional costs. You can also add a Part D prescription drug plan.

Medicare Advantage plans provide Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance) coverage, and most include Part D (prescription drug coverage). Plans may offer extra benefits, such as vision, hearing, dental or wellness programs. You may be required you to use a contracted provider network in your area. When choosing a plan, make sure your doctor is considered in-network (contracted).

If your Providence Medicare Advantage plan is ending December 31, 2026, you’ll need to choose a new plan for 2027.
